Hi,

I have just got my first nissan after being on the dark side with Toyota and I have a fair bit of oil running down the inside of my front tyre around what I think is the Hub seal.

I am not very mechanicaly minded but I want to try to fix this myself!

Can it be done easliy?

What parts do i need?

How do you do it?

How much if I just gave in and sent it to a garage.

I have done the search and cant find a topic on this so please bear with me if this question has been asked before.

Thanks

Good chance the inner axle seal is leaking. Best to put a whole swivel hub kit in it. Not sure if you want to try it if your not mechanicaly minded.

I can agree with Tuff Mav. As a mechanic, I still reckon they are a pain in the bum to do. If there is nothing wrong with your bearings, you'll need and axle seal and bearing seal, probably some diff oil to top up what you lost through the seal, and some grease to repack your wheel bearings. That probably won't cost you more than $50 max. If you take it to a repairer I reckon they will charge you for around 2 hours labour at a cost of around $60-$70 an hour labour. Not bad piece of mind knowing that your wheel won't overtake you while you're driving down the road :D
