TRANSFER CASE PROBLEM

I went for a bit of a drive this morning and now the transfer case won't go back into high2 ( LJ80 ).
other than take it out is there anything else i can do to see what the problem is ?

Can you unlock the hubs?

Not sure on LJ's but the sierras have a bush under the shifter lever ball. kift the lever out and there may be a bush dissappeared under there.
Hubs, not sure if LJ has any, mine does not.

yeah no hubs on the LJ, I'll try and see if i can find the bush and see how we go thatks heaps for the info.

wha he said heard of this happening alot. you can usually get at it with a screw driver

Sure its not just wind up causing the problem
I sometimes have to drive backwards in a straight line to counter this effect and then it just pops straight in

When I was a kid I had a part time job driving an LJ with the trolley collection trailer on the back at Toowong Villiage.
I remember having this problem but the sollution is a little hazy. I think you can remove a plate in the floor above the t'case and then move the selectors back into position with a screwdriver.

try reversing and shifting in to h2 at the same time sound like you have got some wind up in the driveline. you can jack up the front and some times the wheels will spin as the release the wind up
