is the source that told you that not installing camber bolts will result in scrubbing from the same company selling you the lift? or was it a mate?
from what i know, OME lifts are 30mm on vits, and GVs.
even when installing camber bolts, i think that they are limited to only 2 degrees of adjustment anyway. and the OME struts are supposed to have slight camber compensation built in. well, probably enough for 30mm lift.
when you lift IFS vehicles, you are decreasing the track width at the front. so you are basically pulling the bottom of the tyres inwards. this creates unwanted positive camber. (jack the front of the vit up from the crossmember and you can clearly see how this works)
if you install a lift on an IFS, you need to get a wheel alignment done, as it will affect your toe. not quite the case on a solid axle. toe is more likely the cause of accelerated tyre wear, compared to camber.
on lifted IFS vehicles, camber really only affects on road driving, or more so, handling. but you cant drive a lifted zook like a sports car anyway. so just take it easy, and slow down for the corners. the camber on IFS cars are always changing anyway, especially with lifted 4wds. (refer ackerman) and about 8/10 lifted IFS, or IFS 4wds in general will wear the outer shoulders of the front tyres more quicker. look at hiluxs, 4runners, and surfs. even the newer ifs 4wds have the same problems.
so, i dont think you need the camber bolts. i doubt 2 degrees of neg/pos camber is going to stop scrubbing by itself. to stop scrubbing, either fit smaller wheels and tyres, cut the guards, or bash the body. or MORE LIFT.
a BL usually allows a big increase in tyre diam to be run without scrubbing, and sometimes without having to fit lifted suspension, leaving the sus all stock and in factory working condition. no more camber bolt issues.
i have 3.5" lift in the front of my vit (i know its slightly different to GVs) and i run the OME struts. no camber bolts or anything. i have slightly more pos camber than i would like, but i can live with it.
