It may be prudent to revisit this thread,
as Cheezy said, 3mm is to thin for the inner ring
my inner ring is deformed quite badly, it was never a problem on my old set (I may have to get the vernier out and check the thickness), if you get a set, ask him to make you some thicker inner rings, I think the rolled outers are very good and have not given any trouble in 2 sets over a period of 8 years or so.
Peter.

So, while we're discussing beadlocks, they may not have the visible bling factor of external beadlocks, but has anyone tried the second air type?
Which is the cheapest option to get done professionally by someone as I'm not able to even think about welding some onto the wheels myself?

Thanks in advance

Zook

I just got me some secondairs.

To me, drilling another hole in a rim seems a fairly lo-tech modification

... doesn't hurt I'm a trained tyre fitter ... ;) :D

Because it's common knowledge ;) .. it would be the same as telling people the Barnsey likes his four X

I've been running second airs now for about 2 years and there great. The only problem I had was finding someone willing to have a go at fitting them.

Cheers Mick.

down here 2ndair beadlocks are a PITA, punctured tubes, because they dont stop crap getting past the bead, and then rub on the tube, then you dont know your "beadlocks" arent working, and end up knocking the tyre off as well......

Back to mechanical beadlocks for me.

Browny why dont you just get Pip to make you a set  otherwise Gonads has them in stock ;) . You could just go for the Stauns as your use is not going to require mechanical double beadlock otherwise you could get Shane's Stazworks double beadlocks & swampers and re-redrill the centres :D .

The second air is not the same as the new Staun beadlock. Staun have a new design and now have a manufacturing factory in Qld. ats4x4dotcom is right that are not for everyone but the new design is far more funtional to fit. If you want the best of both worlds go the Stazworks double beadlock but be ready to pay for it, well at least if you get from me :D

Ezookiel we can weld them up for you and if anyone in melbourne, canberra or Sydney need welding give us a call

Cheers Sean

Give me a call and I am sure we can sort you out with a set of the new lower profile and easier to fit Stauns.. They should work out at a reasonable price. That said we both know Pip does a top job to produce a quality product and being so close it might work out better for u. Horses for course but there is always an option out there to suit most needs
