What is a banana shackle?
Is that with a curve built into the shackle or something?
What is the benefit of these? Never heard of them b4 that's all.
Cheers,

they shaped like a banana and aloow u 2 get a 45degree shackle angle on the front of a lux bithout the shackle hitting the bodymount/frame, altho they do hit the body mount on the front side but that is easily fixed by notching the bodymount but u cant do that at the back coz its the frame that needs cutting

So they require spacers I guess or can they be dog-legged (for want of a better term)?

Spacers seem to get hung up much easier due to the extra width.

Won't the spring eye still hit the frame?

Do they give more or less flex than straight shackles?
Do these allow you to bolt rear springs in the front?
What other mods do you need to do to make this work?
And most importantly is it worth putting rear springs in the front?
Anyone done this mod? How much improvement?
Cheers,
Bart

None realy they allow the shackle to fold back on the chassis without interferring with the body mount (i have notched mine)
Do these allow you to bolt rear springs in the front?
You can bold these in atm with just a 2 or 3" extended shackle, and caster correction wedges unless you go dropped hangers
What other mods do you need to do to make this work?
Cross over steering
And most importantly is it worth putting rear springs in the front?
Hella of a lot of flex
Anyone done this mod?
Heaps - i am going to on my project next week when the chassis gets back from the welders
How much improvement?
I personally dont know

Cheers for that bubs,
So are you putting the rears in front aswell as banana shackles?
or just the rears in front with straight shackles? Post pics

I've got rears up front and can highly recommend them for flex. Unfortunately, they're not exactly "bolt-on"

toyo FYI i am running a 2" dropped hanger 25mm forward of stock, with cross over steering, the box will be as far forward as possible
beebee - what is the centre to centre of your front shackles, so i can make some?

I'll measure them when I get a chance.
