Bigger springs standard shocks

Just wondering if you can put 2 or 3 inch raised springs in a gu wagon without changing the shocks. ( mate gave me some raised springs and cant wait to put them in...) :roll:
when i have the cash will be upgrading the shocks!!!!![/b]

Yes but your shocks will either be at full extension or very close and will be a very harsh ride at very least. At worst, the car could become dangerous to drive.

That said, I did it for a month or so. Felt like crap but worked (barely) in the short term.

most aftermarket shocks are oe to 50mm raised, you could well be fine

I did it last weekend and it is working fine ! :lol:

There is plenty of downward wheel travel, yes it is recommened to change shocks later to access this wheel travel, but like you I got the springs for a deal and couldnt wait to install them.

I lifted the car by the diff, put axles stands under the chassis, removed the wheels and lowered the diff. The diff touched the ground before I could even remove the shocks. After raising the car higher, and removing the shock and stabiliser it still touched the ground but I could get the springs out.
