Hi guys, stil trying to wor out what is wrong with my 93m GQ, aftermarket high rise water cooled turbo diesel, when car is running cold and cap off, the coolant is bubbling, and keeps doing it when warms up, then over flows all the coolant into the overflow. Isolated water from turbo and stil bubbles, pulled fan belts off and still bubbles, had the coolant sniffed for exhaust gases, so not a head gasket. Anyone got any ideas??? Cheers. Paul.

my mk diesel does this when it runs hot. I replaced my fan with theremos and so far so good.

i flushed my radiator and heaps of crap came out. My theory is it creates uneven flow in the radiaotr due to blockages and then pressurises the system and then pumps the water out.

i guess ill find out in a few months if my raidator is totally shagged.

I'd love to hear other's opinions as well

Does it start doing it straight away from a cold start.

this happened in my work ute last week.. turns out the welch plugs under the exhaust manifold were rusted/corroded and had small holes in them, so the heat of the exaust was super heating the water.. some new brass plugs and it's all good again!

Yeah ludacris, it does it straight away and less if i rev it? Ill check my welsh plugs again, but they all seemed ok. Are there welsh plugs down the back of the motor in the bell housing? i found the two above the bell housing. Cheers.

How did you check for exhaust gases?
