Outer Limits 4x4 Board

After going for a light 4b on sunday morning i got on the highway and once i hit 80km/h got a real bad wobble that then stayed there right through the speed range (on and off). I only had a quick trip up the highway so i limped home and couldnt find anything wrong with it. today i took it out for a drive on the road and the wobble had all but dissapeared. It is like the tyres are out of balance, but all the weights seem to be still there and there is no massive clumps of mud or any rocks. I dont really want this to come back halfway to Emu Creek in 2 weeks, is there anything else i should check.

GU patrol, 3" lift, no castor but has never been a problem yet.

check for excessive play in your front wheel bearings and make sure you wheel nuts are all done up correctly.

Check your radius arms are done up. I had a similar problem the other day doing 90 kay, and thought I was gonna roll with massive death wobbles - scared shite out of me. Turned our to be a loose radius arm.

it will also happen with you get mud on the inside of your wheels..... last trip i did to the watagans i got mud on the inside of my wheels..... the Patrol shook like a bastard at any speed i cleaned it the next day when i got home from work, and there was a HEAP of mud caked on the inside of the wheels.... i hosed it out, and stuck the hose in my disks and got the crap out of them too..... all it did then was the usual death wobble at 65kph and dissapeared at 70....

no mud in wheels, everything is tight, no play in panhards.

Check to see the nut behind the wheel is tight. Could have a nervous twitch that moves the wheel left and right without noticing.

Are they a rag tyre or a radial.Rag tyres do it at low pressure.www.coffs4wdclub.com

I have the same sort of problem and it goes away if I pull over and stop, then start driving again.

I figure it's from my warped radius arms... one day I'll fit castor correctors or maybe go silly and get some of these...

i had the same sort of problem thought it was my radius bushes ended up being my panhard bush even though it lokked ok.replaced the bushes with proper nissan ones all gone now

My car is a 60 series landcruiser .My maxxis mudzillas get a big wobble up if they have low pressure ,if i slow down it stops then i can drive again.The rag tyres loose there shape .My car only does it with those tyres and low pressure,its mecanically perfect
