A fellow forum member (kind one at that) lent me his triton ute for a long period of time while mine was in for repairs.
I wanna do something for him, he would never accept money or similar. but I remember him complaining that filters were crazy dear, but you could buy adaptors to use standard cheaper filters.
I have called a couple of local places, eg, repco, but they know nothing about them.
Does anyone out there?
It is a 98 triton, that run the same motor as pajero, I believe.
Any help appreciated.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are after but I found an add in 4x4 monthly issue no. 87 (December 2005) pg 285.
"Convert your diesel engine to take quality Z9 oil filters with our FILTER MATE adaptor. Z9 filters are available virtually anywhere...........bla bla bla.
Machined from high tensile aluminium billet, the FILTER MATE adaptor cannot wear out........bla bla bla
Fitted by hand, without tools (well that would be by hand wouldn't it), the adaptor will allow you to save significantly on servicing costs .....bla bla bla.
Will fit • landcruiser • hilux • prado • surf •
$120 each
There is only a phone number on the add
Phone Grant on 0427 589 564
Hope this helps out - it is always a good feeling to give something to someone who has helped you out way past the call of dutyand will not take money. I have payed people with Lobster, Rydel glasses, champagne, grog and full tanks of petrol for the use of the vehicles when mine has had a trip to the hospital for weeks on end.

Call me what you like - they have an uncanny ability to make average wine taste great!
But there's no way I can justify the $$$.
And I don't drink Jack - beer and wine only.

Thanks noisey. BTW, he saw my post ( didn't realise he used this part of the forum) and thanked me, but said he had been recently warned against using them by his diesel mech (keen to hear why)
Cheers.
