Have just finished watching the DVD

Here's my thoughts on it..................

While still in the same old format with the boring voice over commentary  it's pretty good.

Every team seems to get a fair bit of coverage due to it being 3.5 hrs long.

It manages to cover all stages quite well

It does have the standard commentary mistakes such as wrong vehicles and teams etc

Suggest skipping through the prologue footage to reduce the viewing time ;)

What do you think of it???????

I was not aware of Adrian changing his name......

A lot of bad mistakes, wrong vehicle (I was in a landcruiser?) and incorrect drivers.

If I remember rightly there is only footage of two groups in the sand(C&D) and two groups in the mud (A&B).

Also only a small amount of footage of one of the three stages on Wednesday & Saturday.

I felt as if there was not enough stuff to laugh at, bring back Ron & Russell hall I say. Wa had some excellent footage from Wednesday night of Andy Miller cooking a BBQ, wearing only an apron of the OZ flag, and saying how tough we do it in the OBC. Unfortunately for some reason it was decided not to include this....

rumour has it that Simon & Miranda 4wd TV where approached to do the filming/dvd this year.......but due to v. busy schedule they couldn't make it....
they would be unreal, cos they eat, sleep and breath 4wheeling, and know just about everyone thru going to all the comps......whereas Merrick is into Motor Sport in general and I don't think ever appears at any other 4wd event.
We haven't got our copy yet, so I can't make a comment, but last years I felt didn't have enough humour...I know it's up to the participants and the Hall brothers are so hard to beat for dry ozzie humour and are sadly missed..but we had such a funny happening too in the mud last year and there was a camera person right there... instead they chose to use me yelling at a marshall ......actually I've always felt the women competing have never been shown in a good lite...we have an absolute ball and yet you'd think it was one long hard slog.....the blokes get portrayed as if they're having a blast and even tho we're intereviewed and say the same...it's never used!!!!
The OBC is one of the best 4x4 comps out there and not too hard that women can't drive or navie either.....no mistake it's tuff, but women can handle tuff and scary just like the blokes.
The girl navie's who've proved that, I reckon are tops too...it's bloody hard yakka for them.

But then I've said all this before....so it's good to see others are fronting up with what they think too. We await the dvd with interest.

Good Luck to those competing at the Alpine C. or at Rudi's Cliffhanger Navrun.

Cheers,
Celia & Eugene

Got the dvd today, sent all the way to Norway :)

Awesome dvd as allways from Mr. Beesley

He doesn`t mess up the whole show by playing background music like some producers, 4wd tv comes to mind.

Hey Jane,
How u doing girl?....glad at least someone in our team has got to see it and enjoyed it too.
Are you competing in Cliffhanger? I know u guys would love it too.
Paul (Coighty) & Shane in the Silver Beast will be there.
Done any other comps since the OBC?.........
Hows your daily driver fairing up?
Eugene has recently installed "Gas" in his lwb, Nick Manell Motors connected/certified the job. Otherwise don't know how long he would of waited to get the job booked in and done by the LPG installer Co. Now he fills up for a 3rd of the cost, like $35.
Would be good to catchup somehow soon.
Cheers,
Celia & Eugene :)

We have nearly worn out our post box key wishing the DVD would turn up..... Have they actually posted it????? Either that or it is the slowest post I have ever experienced. At least from all accounts it is a fairly good watch, if it ever gets here......

Waiting impatiently in Coonamble (a long way from a 4wd store)

Good to see other people still waiting. I can't believe Sharyn would send an e-mail saying they were posting them out 2 weeks ago, either she's full of shiat or Austalia post has some questions to answer. Anyway still waiting, but running out of patience fast.

Even the Dubbo 4wd show had a copy of the DVD running, Todd caught a glimpse of it at Seto's ARB stand (they had only just received their copy too...) - what we should have seen ages ago - good old competitors, the last ones to know as usual....
The crazy thing is we all front up each year for more torture.....

Still waiting impatiently in Coonamble.....
