Lj Questions

Hey,
Just picked up an old LJ, And just got it running.
A few questions however
1) The Master Cylinder is leaking Oil through the Firewall into the Cab...
Where would I go to get a seal for this car... and what is the best way to go about changing it out?
2) The Rims are they the same as standard sierra rims?
(Offset, Diameter, width etc?)
Or the LJ's have a different Rim... just after a spare for it...
3) Also not sure what model the LJ is....
Only thing I can find on it is the VIN, nothing else to identify the year, or model.
Are there any obvious ways to find out what model it is? Or can it be determined by the VIN?
Thanks in advance

1)try suzuki, they seem to have a lot of stuff sitting in various warehouses
2) Same stud pattern, although, usually narrower. Some of the older rims were 16's
3) Easy as the Vin number should give you the model
LJxx
so LJ80164638
is an lj80

The Vin Number is 13464312 so it dosnt really give any help to what it is, and its pretty rough, alot of home made stuff welded on, so not sure if pictures will help ... but for 150 nice little unit. Will try to get some photo's soon... any ideas if there is a register to look up the Vin number?

if it has a bulge in the bonet, it will be an lj80 and if it has a flat style bonet with a crece down the centre it is a LJ50.
if its got a zook motor in it still, and its not a 2stroke, it will be an lj80.
Lj 50 headlights are closer together than lj80 ones, I cant remember, how many, slots diferance there is

, ill check some pics of my old junk.

I've got a brand new master cylinder kit sittin on my desk at home if you cant find one...that is if its a LJ50....
original sierra rims have a different offset and will scrub on the springs at full lock
should be another id plate on the guard...prolly faded or missing....the tell tale sign between LJ50 and 80's will be 2 or 4 stroke or if its got a different engine look for a oil bottle bracket on the drivers side guard near the fire wall
also checkout
www.lj10.com the only site for LJ stuff

It Used to be a 2stroke motor, but now how a corolla 1.3 in it...
so its not a lj80.... it looks more like the picture of the lj20 that you posted . however the front grill has been removed and had a large radiator put in its place.. So i am pretty sure about it been a LJ20 now
I've downloaded the service manual for the lj20... dosnt look liek the unit is really serviceable from the diagrams... so will have a look later and might take you up on that offer crispy

thank you very much i'll pm you if it comes to that.
Thank you very much for your help so far

shouldnt be a 20, pretty sure australia only got 50's and 80's.
there were a couple of different grill designs for the 50.
also check out a 1ltr sierra master, it may be the same or interchangeable, there are lots of parts thet fit on both.

Heh alright, well i will have a look later... its currently at my brothers, cause i dont ahve the room for it... From those pictures it looked closer to the LJ20 from the type of body it had, as the grill is gone, and i cant remember to many defining features to it
Thx

LJ20's have only got idicators on the front, so if you got blinkers and parkers its LJ50.
