Warn M10,000lb winch any good?

I have a chance to buy a warn 10,000lb winch at a good price with a winchbar just wondering what peoplet think of these winches? im not doing anything full on with it its more just to get me out of trouble if need be, are these winches fast slow? i havent heard allot about them i just hear about the 9,000lb and the 9,500lb any info or feedback welcome.

got one of these on the front of my GQ.......not as fast as the High mount I had on the MK but work great to get me out of trouble when needed.....
I think any Warn is better than a no name any day of the week. Just make sure you service it........

Servicing the winch is a good idea.
I was reading the warn 9000 manual the other day, and it says you "never need to lube or maintain your winch for its entire life!! And IF it gets under water(!) you should run it until it gets hot and let it cool. This will remove any internal moisture." What a stupid publication!!!

yeh id love to know this also, i wouldnt mind rebuilding my winch, its only an m8000, but i got it for $400, in perfect nick and have used it heaps, but would like to rebuild, i havent looked at anything, theres probably heaps out there to let you know and probably a rebuild kit from warn, just curious

Just dissassemble, clean and repack the planetaries etc with a good moly type chassis grease, or a marine type waterproof grease. You will see that mosst winches have very poor water sealing, some with no O rings or anything around case!

had mine 3 yrs, love it.. its going on the GU too.
