Tapered roller bearing transfer case

I bought a car to rat for parts , evidently it has a tapered roller transfer
case. Anyway I got underneath today to have a look.
I pulled off the bottom plate, speedo drive housing, centre diff and output gear, every thing as normal except the intermediate shaft has along bolt that goes all the way through the shaft and threads into the case I think as I cuold not get the intermediate shaft out. It has a larger than normal plate on the end that I could turn with a large spanner but could not get any clearance off the case.
Does anyone know the details of the modification.
I was hoping to just swap the transfer stuff over to my box , but am having my doubts as to wether this is possible.

My original thouhts were to sell it and the rebuilt lt95 in my car and be able to afford to fit a zf and lt230, but I don't know if that is acheivable, given the amount of setup needed for the zf.
At this stage I am unsure.

If your trans has been rebuilt, are you interested in $$$ and a LT230 as part exchange? I have a ZF attached to the LT230, but it is in need of a rebuild.

the conversion you have can easily be swapped to another transfercase, the long bolt keeps the bearings preloaded and threads into a special nut which locates in the forward part of the housing. It's just the standard australian military set up for the 110 4x4 and 6x6 perenties.I've got the parts diagram here, just have to get my brother to put the pics up for me(The 109).

Justin I really couldn't be bothered with all the fiddly work in the conversion
I had a quote of 6k drive in drive out.
I don't have the time or the money and I should keep to my original thoughts on the car which is to make it as strong and simple as possible.
If I can swap the transfer stuff over to my box it will be fairly painless.
I was told the lt95 in the car was recently rebuilt and it looks that way
Going back to one of your earlier posts, I have one set of 1.113 gears available.

Tim D if you could post the info it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

swamp...
the manual is titled "repair manual-australian army vehicles",it's issued to land rover dealers but remains the property of JRA limited.
I bought my conversion 2nd hand from FWD motors in brisbane for $600 with new bearings.as far as i understand they have a contract to repair the army's land rovers, their ph number is 07 3848 9323.

Swamp,
Just talked to them last week, because you won't sell me yours, I had to get a new one! They are waiting for some components to come in, and will be about 2 weeks. I would guess that they are able to fax a copy of the relavent pages to you?
