Recovery gear and vehicle

As part of a business deal, one of the aspects is 4x4 recovery. I have owned various 4x4's, mostly hiluxes for about 20 years and have nearly always got myself out when stuck or used just a snatch strap to help others. Apparently here there is a lot of extreme recoveries in the forestry and beach areas, so I would need to upgrade the gear, so..

1. what is a good winch that could handle weekly use in the sub $1500 mark.
2. What are the best snatch straps out there to handle regular use
3. What are the best high lift jacks around?
4.Are those Airbags any good for recoveries

The vehicle I at this stage, keeping in mind they don't last longer than 2 years, is an LN106 2.8 hilux, stock as a rock, steel tray, H/D rear bar, alloy front. I would like to put Lokkas in it just due to budget constraints, are the Lokkas ok for beach and forestry work, no hills or rocks about here.
I will also have a 4x4 tractor for really bad cases. i.e all you can see is the roof

from what i read you wish to use a lux for a recovery vehicle on a comercial level?

if this is so id strongly sugest looking at a heavier vehicle as you will have alot of trouble trying to recover patrols and cruisers that are stuck bad with a vehicle that weighs a ton tess

hence why all the recovery vehicles at double island etc are 4wd f trucks and proper 4wd trucks

Yeah I was thinking the same, my thoughts were 4x4 tractor, big arse PTO winch and tines to lift, but just going on what has been used before, More needed good guts on recovery gear recommendations

can i suggest a PTO winch

no duty cycle, amazing power and with good maintenence they are almost indestructable. Depending on the model you can fit a fair shiatload of rope on the drum.

i would also suggest that if you are going to be doing recoverys for others on a regular basis then you should get rope instead of cable on a safety basis.

It is possible that as this is part of your business, insurance may dictate proper regular inspection schedules on all kit by a certified inspector.

I don't know wether you've owned a hilux before, if you did wether you've snatched anyone out. But a lot of the hard snatch work is taken up by the snatch strap anyway. I've snatched out a axel bogged Patrol up the cutting with a Suzi sierra, up at DI. Yeah if you were doing these things day in day out a F truck would probably be good, but he's only keeping his lux for two years so I think he should be alright. Besides hilux's are "unbreakable"
