Buggered, Hopeless, Bouncy & Noisey?

My 1994 had factory adjustable shocks and I don't like them, hence the comment! They were only 3 way thou KYB's and made it ride so very firmly, O and they were noisy, small bumps would make a tapping sounds. Mind you I guess they had done 80 000k & 10 years.

I have the original "japanese" owners manual.
Quite a good read, well looking through the pics trying to work out what they all mean.

The diagram for the 4 way adjustable shocks on the Gen1 show 1 as the hardest setting (highway driving) and 4 being the softest (4wding conditions)

If it is like my import it will be set on the hardest setting.

Be careful of the adjusting screw, its brass and on one shock I thought I was adjusting only to find I had shaved the brass from the adjuster.

I have now replaced the originals for something else.

Cheers

Thanks for the info,no wonder it is wallowing like a part beached whale as I thought that 4 would have been the hardest and set it for that.when the weather is fine again I will alter them.
