Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hi all, i have been thinking of putting a lift kit in my s1 disco but i am not sure what has to be done.

i dont want to go to high as the disco will not fit in the garage with a high lift on it.

what else has to be done to the car, besides springs and shocks?\

any help would be great .

Depending on how high...nothing.

2" lift will see no changes. Go to 3" and you may need to lengthen your brake lines. Any higher and you will need castor correction too.

i was thinking about 2" but i was not sure if you have to change brake lines or anything else.

I had a 2" EFS kit in my D1 which ended up being more like 3".

Went wheeling in it and there was no need to lengthen brake lines. But for the little amount of coin to do it, having braided stainless lines improves the brake feel HEAPS.

Arn't these illegal on road cars in QLD? 99% sure they are in NSW. I agree though, it improves brake feel.

Yep !! they are illegal in QLD which is the reason I went for the standard look when I had my brake lines extended by 100mm on each corner. It only cost me $65 for the 4 . Well worth the peace of mind !!

there are ADR approved braided lines you can get in QLD, but not all people have them. i was supposed to be getting them on mine when i extended my brakelines but my mechanic decided to save me 'money' and replaced with normal extended lines.

so i was told by certain hose fittings mobs anyway...

there legal here in the a.c.t but have to be an adr aproved hode with the right numbers and shit on them. there prety picky.

carters clutch in east maitland can do the steel braided adr approved lines not sure on price though

These guys do ADR compliant braided brake hoses. My front ones at 3" longer then standard cost $80 each and the back one at 4" longer was $95.

The front Rover fittings are standard and they had them in stock, but the larger fitting on the rear they didn't I just had to take an original hose to them and they reused the original fitting.
