Gas access is limited off the main drag, but sure helps you get to Cairns cheaper :D

Dunno the legality of filling up on Propane BBQ Gas further up (it's available but they may not wanna do it) plus of course they may not carry enough for a band of 4wder's.

I'm booked in for my dual fuel conversiona nd still intending a cape trip. It'll be a pain with a 45 litre petrol tank but it's possible. just need a lot of Jerry cans.

Without LPG I wouldnt even consider it due to the cost of the Highway sections.

You can but bbq Gas is made up of a different composition than autogas so it might not be good for your motor. BBq gas is dearer too.
