I was going to buy some 'desert fox' (?) shocks, made buy gabriel.. asked my mechanic if they were anygood and he said
dont touch em Don't know why, just passing on the info
. And not too sure if that's the cheapest price either as the place I saw em was selling em for about $80 each. Once u add postage it'll be $215 for the pair

Gabriel = very cheap....
Not sure how well they work or last, but going by the prices they sell for I wouldn't expect much.

and for $260 you could have Rancho RS5000s delivered to your door.. and thats just the RRP...
I know what I'd go for
Gabriel has become one of them sort of Supercheap brands now... just associated with being cheap... and thats all
haha... you have the same shocks as a Tarago
If you go 4x4ing, get some good 4x4 brand shocks, you won't be disappointed.. I never knew how much difference they could make

Ranchos and Ferozas generally aren't a good mix - do a search.

Whoa! I just read the price again... $260 -> $299 BUY NOW for Gabriel shocks- no way!
Better off buying Monroes for substantially less IMHO.
BTW I'm sure I've seen Gabriels advertised for other fittments for around $50 a pair in places like Super Cheap.

I think they are allright.
Just need to find the right matching pair really.
BTW to my understanding, Ultimate Suspension shockers, Asuie Ryder were made by them.
Oh yeah, does this old company still exists? It seems it just vanished into thin air.
I recall back in the 80s and early 90s they were bigger than ARB and their suspension kits were a hell lot better developed that the OME kits.
And i know for a fact they really did more RnD work on the Daihatsus compared to all the current suspension manufacturers these days.

Gabriel shocks = cheap sh!t. I bought a pair for my rear coz of limited funds at the time (moving interstate) and needed to replace shagged shocks. Cr@p travel!!!!! Ended up snapping the bottom off one going a bit hard through a roundabout on the way to work.... If you must run something CHEAP, then go to a wrecker and grab some rear shocks out of an EA Falcon for <$20 a pair.

Just make certain you have enough travel available if you have changed your rear ride height.
Have used Pedders when funds were tight - but length was an issue. Now have Tough Dog's on and am happy with their length and ride.

Yeah i had that issue too, then i realised i had the wrong shock lengths and they were crap.
Now i'm running some Garbriel Ryders if my memory serves right, around 23to 24inch long.
They seem fine to me. Just a tad overdamped. But suits my driving style.
