Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Im thinking about getting Tough Dog suspension (adjustables) for my 80 series.
Anyone had any experience with them.

I've got tough dog 4" springs and 4" adjustable shocks, the 45mm ones - love em

other than one leaking slightly a few days after it was fitted (it was replaced immediately with no dramas) I've had no issues in 40,000 car-destroying k's

I have the adjustable shocks big bore, no dramas with leaking only I can no longer adjust them as the dial has been rubbed off on rocks. They have been and are still getting put through hell. Good shock, possibly one of the best for the 80 series comparing to rancho which can be floaty in a lifted 80.

fiited the big bore adjustables last week love em.

I dare say that adjustables is the only way to go in a lifted 2 ton car.

Ive got them and dont think I would be able to go back standard shocks.

i have at least 5 other mates who's tough dogs are leaking or jsut stuffed, i'll never go near them again and they wont either.. id rather run sumthing cheap and replace it once a year at a 1/4 of the price of the t/d's than replace the t/d's every year

Don't do it .I have had 3 set's in my first GQ , And my new one came with them its had 2 sets .It was a mates car . They are a waste of space . I now have Dobbensons in there now they are a much better shock's .. And my new one's have out lasted them .

So basically, what shocks are you guys running in 4" to 7" lifts then?

td big bore adj for me used to have adj ranchos they were crap

my tough dogs were lucky to last 9 months in my gq they leaked, dials didnt work and they hit every thing. i have a 6in lift with 36in pro comps and i love them id rather pay $150 per corner for a pro comp than $250 for a leaking peice off crap. they have better damperning than my tough dogs did after a couple of weeks never go t/ds again.

Ok some good points. I might look at something else. Whats everyone reconmending then.

Dobinson or EFS are good shocks, both are better and cheaper than TD.

Edelbrock Performer IAS, bout the same price as TD, but there is spare parts available for EVERY component, they are tunable and rebuildable.

Well i figured i musta jsut gota bad batch...

now i jsut know they are crap and i wont be trying them again.. and besides they replaced em for free... but wats the point if they keep falling to bits

Had Tough Dogs in the back of my LWB Vit, FANTASTIC.....but have been in other trucks, Ferozas, Rodeos, etc. where I thought they were the crappest things around..... See if you can find somebody with a similar truck that has had some experience with 'em.

My main issues in the bad ones were lack of travel and/or really harsh ride.
