What do people think about putting a V6 commodore motor in with the standard G52 hilux gearbox.
Is it stong enough or the a better box from another model?

I got one with the commodore 4 spd auto and is an excellent combo on and off road.
i have a vs v6 in my hilux bolted to the standard box, what ever box that was on the 22r, took me 3 demolished boxes to workout that they can't handle the power. All my boxes dropped teeth of reverse gear, that when going forward would pick up the broken teeth and than bang. I now have one of the mark's adaptors dyna boxes in for over 18 months and no trouble as yet, touch wood. I also supercharged the v6 not long after i put the new box on, and has taken everything i can give it. so my advice would be to not skimp on the box, either look into getting an auto(i hear they have their fair share of troubles in getting set up right), or get a decent box to start with. It will save you money and a lot of heart ache in the long run.

i have 2 v6 chev engines for sale in parts woudl be able to make one runnign engine of it. it runs a 500 holley but i have been usin gas its a turbo bolt pattern chev i also have the adaptors there to for the right price woudl save u doin a heap of wiring mods to run efi. when it was running well it could chirp 3rd on the road if u wanted to but its still got less power than a commodore motor which could save u gearboxs

T700 to Hilux transfer adaptor kit $1,000ish then your engine kit.

you can use the v6 surf gearbox, heaps stronger. you will need to grind some of the outer casing and find a slave cylinder that works will the hilux clutch (that has enough push for the clutch to work). you will need to realign some holes with a burr grinder but other than that its a straight swap....

I have a turbo700 in mine. Did gearbox in not long ago had rebuilt and strengthened (The Beast reactor shell and kevlar high energy bands plus a corvette piston) Geabox man said reactor shells go on them all the time leaves you with only 1st and 3rd no reverse.
88 lux, commodore v6+auto, 80 series diffs on coils.

what sort of supercharger did you fit? Fitted a toyota clutched one a while ago to mine works well. not heaps of boost (lb) but definite gains in power. cost nothing other than little bits and pieces i.e. BOV, switch and some pipe work
