Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I've searched the forum and found a bit of info but not much.
I'm looking at an 89 V6 auto Terrano are they a good 4x4?
Are these reliable, anything to look out for?
Also what are they like for parts being an import are parts and servicing expensive?
I know they're not a hardcore 4x4 but my early model vitara with ome lift gets me everywhere i want to go, just want some more room and to be able to tow a trailer on road.

Terrano is basically a pathfinder, so parts availability is not so hard. Depending on model there are some panel differences.


For real hardcore work they're a bit weak in the front end.


You should check out the US websites, since they dont have Patrols there the Pathfinder/Navara are the main offroad options there. You can get heaps of goodies for them cheap from the US.

Based on your description I think you'd probably be pretty happy with one. Not sure about the auto but that's your call

Are prone to serious rust in the floor, so give it a good check over.

my son has a 95 pathfinder V6. we are suprized at how far it can go off road (not as good as my other sons twin locked SWB GQ or my twin locked RA rodeo). All it has is 31's, 30mm rear lift, wound front torsion bars up 25mm and his has LSD front and rear. for those of you that know city view, it managed to get up jeepers jumpup with only a few spots needing to back up for a different attack route. It has broken 2 AVM front manual hubs, so we are trying to source the 28spline navara manual hubs to see if they are stronger. Otherwise pretty tough for what it is.

Stick with breaking the AVM hubs. Hubs are much easier and cheaper to replace than CV's. Factory hubs are strong and will never break but the CV will!
