Man that takes some real looking at to figure out, but I think it just has everything written twice in diagram 7.
So, wire C is actually the same as "red", both go to +12V from the ignition switch but one says this in writing and the other says it with a shitty picture (of a fuse panel and the ignition switch).
So, I read it as:
A/green -> the coil negative pin.
B/black -> ground.
C/red -> +12V from the ignition.
It seems like someone has added more info to picture 7, to suit a slightly different tacho.
The one they have added info for seems to have an orange wire as well, which (it looks like) is meant to be connected to the dashboard illumination, so it lights up when the dash does (ie so you can read the gauge in the dark).

i have installed as it says apart from orange wich i have hooked up to a switch (lights up tacho) .
the only problem now is with the car switched off it sits at about
6500 rpm and as soon as you start it drops down to about 2500 rpm
when the accelerator is applied the needle on the guage goes down in sted of up
Whats wrong

Sounds like red and black are around the wrong way maybe.

ive tried them both ways makes no differance
it only happens when (C) is connected

So you have black to ground, red to +12V, and green to the coil's -ve terminal, and that's all, and it's reading backwards?

I had a mate say it might be the tacho so i exchanged it for another one.
Installed this one and it works
just the needle wont go past 1,200
Is it just me

Got it all figured out now.
Green goes to positive on the coil not the negitive.
Black to negitive not the positve.
The instuctions are incorrect.
