Doors

Is it illegal to drive a fourty series without the doors? someone told me you can but it sounds sussed to me. By the way im in qld.

i saw a yellow jeep drivin around doorless last weekend.. not sure if its legal though but i wouldn't be surprised if it wasnt.

Yeah, I don't know for sure either. Never seen anything written anywhere in reference to doors yet.
What about taking the roof off, is there any law about how or what has to be done?

I wouldn't be pushing the preverbial.

You could be asked to prove the doors were removeable from factory, which AFAIK they werent. (unbolting doesnt count as removeable).

i herd it was leagal aslong as your side mirrors are still there so that means they need to be attached to the A pillar not hard to do if you have no snorkle

You can remove the doors without unbolting the hinges, they have loose pins in them (as in not captive) this is how I used to take mine off all the time.

As suggested above in victoria it is legal to drive a 40 series with out the
doors
The original owners hand book even has a section on removing the doors
for this purpose! Although the hand book recommends the use of a saftey strap that go's from the hinge mounts to the door striker this is not a legal reqiurment in victoria

Drove mine around for a couple of months without doors. Not sure about legal or not but never got pulled over....
