Isuzu Copied Keys

In my MU manual it says it's hard to copy the key and to go to Isuzu dealer for a spare key ?

Is it just that key copiers can do it now (15 years after the car was made), or is it that isuzu wanted to drum up some business?

You may have a transponder built into the key, which will need to be "coded". Isuzu dealers will have the equipment to do it.
If it has a remote for central locking etc, that will need to be coded as well.

Insurance companies want immobilisers so most MU’s have aftermarket ones

OK, ALL Rodeo's after 2000 have a factory fitted immobiliser, that uses a transponder in the key.
