hilux crawler gears

hey guys i am lookin at puttin crawler gears in my transfer case in my hilux it has a commy motor and auto box, i just mainly want these gears for down hill engine braking really, and i am unsure on what ratio would be good ne help would be great. I was lookin at getting them through marks????

well i spose it all depends on how low you really want it.Whats size tyres are you running too??? cos im running 32s n mines good,but that is with a diesel and a manual.what are the options with the marks gears?
rockhoppers 111% in mine would be stupid,have you thought about diffs instead????

nah havent thought of diffs, i am running 33's soon to be 35's.

Have you thought of dual transfers? One of the blokes I go wheeling with has a rig with dual transfers and a 3.8v6 auto he seems to only use it on downhill as well
If you coverted a petrol you may already have 4.8 diffs
Silly question but you have discs all round?

nah just disc drum, it was originally a 2.8 but i am pretty sure the bloek before me mucked around with diff ratios, but i cannot remember what he said he did

number of teeth on your crown wheel divided by the number of teeth on your pinion = your diff ratio
39/8=4.875
Some pinions have different numbers of teeth
