My 75 series fuel gauge goes right down of the gauge even when it still has fuel in it (Aprox 1/2 tank) the tank sender unit has been replaced
thanks

Most sender units are simply variable resistors, with the float arm changing the resistance. Extra resistance can make them read low, so check all your connections for dirt/grease etc.
The sender may earth to the tank itself, so check the earthing between tank and chassis too.
Good luck,
Scott

Also, I have known cases where the float developed a leak, and simply filled (or part-filled) with petrol. So instead of floating at the top of the fuel level, it sinks half way oor all the way, thus reading low.
Easy to fix if that's what it is, just get it out, empty it, and seal it up again (they are usually hollow plastic).

I had the same problem in the 73. One guy replaced the sender but it was still the same. Full was full and it read empty when I still had half a tank.
An auto elec had the dash sent somewhere and go it re-calibrated and now its perfect. Needle hits empty with about 15L left in a 90L tank
