( A different) suspension question

Hello all,
I need some simple(?) help. I have never had an issue with my car not going places i did not require it to, but in saying that i wish it to be easier. Now, does a 2" lift actually add much articulation, or is it primarily for the fitment of larger tyres? This is not what i really wish to do, but i would like a bit more flex. I have noticed that there are the tabs that hold the leaves together, and this is what limits it dropping, as when i open it a little, the leaves splay further, and the wheel goes down. I realise that this is probably illegal, but if the bolts holding the diff to the springs are tight, i can't see it causing an issue. I never carry a load, so would a leaf removed ( and which one), be a better issue. I do not require ground clearance, just a little more flex, and any help is great. very sorry for the novella i just wrote.

loosening the spring clamps will help, however I wouldnt be taking leaves out of stock suspension. Its something that works well to soften up heavy duty suspension.
A 2 inch lift will give some articulation improvement but will not be amazing, the advantages as you said to fit larger rubber, and also to improve approach rampover and departure heights.
If you want your car to do things easier, then invest in a rear locker, and or gearing.

You could go for the ARB 2" lift in a heavy duty spring and remove leaves (or just the second full length one) for better flex. Then if you need to put it back in down the track for what ever reason you can. Christover1 has done something similar with modding his spring packs I think.
