VR Body control Module

With all the V6s going into buggys and 4x4s I thought there has to be some knowledge about the body control module fitted to the vr commodores.

All the converson websites say u need to spend $300-$450 on the new ECM to override this security system because it wont work with your 4x4s system.

My Q is if i keep this module and use the standard commodore key will the engine will still work, saving myself $400???

Any ideas??

Thanks Shane

a mate of mine did this in his 4 runner put the key up under the dash and it works a treat

Also acts as a second security feature if he parks it somewhere dodgy he pulls out the key and takes it with him.. CAR WONT START ;) ;) ;) ;)

hi all
i know that you can go around bcm you need to power up a pink wire on the engine ecu that goes from the bcm to ecu this is that signal wire if you power it through a test light vehicle will start thats how we determine bcm faults at my work
plus it is how car theifs manage to steal cars so easily
just my two cents any way
better than spending 400 bucks and tryin to fit a commo barrel

Sorry to hijack this thread, but what do you do with the speed sensor from the auto if your using the original speedo cable from the transfer case, cause our ecotec in the MK is in limp mode because of this.
Any help would be great

Marks Adapters have an adapter used for cable operated speedos that will do the match.
