Fitted 4x4 Vehicle Tarp Question

Hey Guys,

Is there a fitted tarp that one can pick up at somewhere like super cheap or somewhere that will fit the old fj40s?

Would a jeep tarp fit?

I’ve just brought my cruiser home from 2 years of storage (moved from a crappy apartment to a house finally) and I must admit I nearly cracked wood at the site of it.

Love the old cruiser, only she isn’t the most water resistant vehicle in the world.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers,

-Gary

I don't think there is such a thing as a fitted tarp available. Don't think a jeep top will work either.

Getting a bikini top made for you will not cost very much and a full softop made from an upholsterer is going to cost more but still reasonable I think. Shop around and get one done by a place that has experience with 40's and see some photos of their work and what material they will use. There are better materials out there than the traditional soft top material that will rot or go moldy after a while. Ask for sailtrack as the method of fixing it along the top of the windscreen.

Other than that, if your stuck for a quick fix, like I was when I pulled the hardtop until I got a soft top made, you could always use an appropriate sized tarp and a handful of ocky straps! Worked for me for about a month!

Good luck, Lup :)

Thanks Lup for your suggestions.

What I am actually after is a Car Cover. Because I cannot store her under cover anymore.
