Converting an Air Con to Air compressor

Hi,
My rig only gets used once a month to go off road and I live in Melbourne so I'm thinking of converting the Air Con into an air compressor. Could someone let me know how to go about this sort of conversion and advise me if it is a reliable option.

Run a search for the detail.
However, coming from a guy who researched and started this mod (only stopped because am replacing the engine) the short and nasty version is
You want to cut the hoses on you air con. One will be in 'in' side which you can run to a filter somewhere. Some people plumb it into their air box, some people put in their own filter, some people add an oiler for lubrication but a few drops of oil every few months is sufficient.
Then the hose goes from the air con pump to a blow off valve, an air guage, a pressure switch, your tanks and a quick release valve. This can be achieved through T pieces, an air manifold or whatever combination suits you.
Definitely use air tanks - I have heard nothing but good things about keeping a tank when using air con for continuous air. If no tank you can have trouble.
