NEED HELP ON LOCATING INFO ON THE DAIHATSU SCAT. ALSO ANY HELP ON MODIFYING WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
I HAVE A 84 SCAT 2.8 DIESEL. I HAVE HILUX DIFFS WITH AIR LOCKERS AND A 2 INCH LEAF LIFT. CUSTOM SHACKLES, 3 INCH BODY LIFT AND 35 INCH TYRES.
NONE OF THIS IS INSTALLED YET AS IM PART WAY THROUGH BUILDING A FULL CAGE AND WINCH BAR 4 IT.
IF YOU HAVE MODIFIED ONE OF THESE B4 OR KNOW ANY ONE WHO HAS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS IM NEW TO THESE CARS.

in trying not to sound like ass, you have too much height not enough width.
hilux diffs are a good choice for anybody wanting to do up their daihatsu. IIRC... hilux diffs might be engineerable SUA in qld but i cant remember. it was something like they werent that much wider so i went with MQs??
anyway back on topic-- DIY get used to it. Jjust about anything from any
make bolts on u just have to take time to find what fits best.

As Mull said it's all DIY for our Hatsu's unfortunately...
You do seem to have a lot of (planned) lift for a small truck... 5" plus your shackles (if they raise it also)
Is it going to be (hopefully) Rego'd in NSW? Or a trail pig only?
If so, engineering will be a pain... if not, more width should be on the cards
The 2.8 should be similar to the Rocky 2.8 one would imagine... so any engine dramas should be able to be sorted quite easily.
I'm also in Newy, I'd love to see your rig when its up and running.. should be quite a sight.. the Scats are awesome little trucks
Are you around the Jesmond area by any chance?? PM Me if you want
Keep us posted and get some pics

Are you running the diffs SPOA, if so you have way too much lift. 2 inch springs, aprox 5 inch from change to spoa from spua (lux axle tube and perch thickness) 3 inch body lift, then the increase from the tyre size. What are you doing for gearing options too? Think about dropping the body lift, and maybe less spring lift. Keep it low and stable and it will be a much more fun car to drive.

I started one for him. Posting pics might stump Pig for too long.
I'll keep adding pics for him.
If you read this Pig. Bring some of the Discs from Sam in and I'll get them up.
Cheers,
Ryano

lookin like a good base to start with..wish I turned a shorty into a extra cab..On events like the outback challenge,a scat ute cab starts geting really small esp around day 8 with no creature comforts..or maybee Im just geting old,,all the same,I still luv the pig..... piglet
