Jack TD3.0 injectors and vibrations

Hello good people,

It is well know about early TD3.0 injector seal problems and warranty issues, but can someone tell me if the replacement injector seals are a permanent fix? Another Jack owner said he replaced his seals 3 times (under warranty) before the engine blew up at 100,000kms.

How long will these engines last? What is the correct way to rectify the problem? BTW the vehicle in question is my mates '98 model and is blowing all sorts of stuff out the exhaust.

Also the engine has developed a vibration at 2100rpm. This has happend recently and is not drive train vibrations. The only thing I can think of is alternater bearings, harmonic balancer or waterpump. Any clues?

To see if the altenator or water punp is causing the vibration disconect the belts and take it for a short drive.

For a wild guess I would suspect a dirty or missfiring injector.

Recall was for injector sleeves leaking, allowing fuel into crank case and causeing engine to behave strange, sluggish and then blow up. Whenever a jack goes to a holden dealer they are sposed to check if the recall applies to it, then carry it out. If ya worried about ya trucks requireing it then call the holden dealership and they should check for ya. The rework is a saftey issue too as it can cause the engine to rev out of control.
