Hey,

RE: Kit for sale on E-Bay (minus all 4 springs)
(http://cgi.ebay.com.au/calmini-vitara-3 ... dZViewItem)

Just looking around to find out how hard it would be to find some replacement springs for this kit. I've been in
contact with Calmini and won't sell replacements :?

If any one could help me out with info on the ones that are included in the kit, are all 4 different or 2 pairs
(i've heard both). Anybody actualy had experince of replacing these?

possible springs i could look getting (wrecker etc.) if i end up getting the rest of the kit.

any other relevant information would be handy.

Cheers

I saw this on ebay too. The rear you should be able to get springs from a wrecker to fit. 180sx rear, gemini front, datsun, read the vitara bible and search the forum or go to a wrecker and measure up.

The front you might have to get custom springs, or try lifted ome or king springs, etc with coil spacers.

I'm not sure how well this would all work i don't know much about the calmini kit but some ideas for u.

thanks mate,

Found the same info the other nite when i was looking around. i gave up as got my rego yesterday and being a uni student money's pretty tight. it my dd too, so trying to find springs too fit and aligning everything would keep it outta action for a lil while and a few more $$$.

Still gonna go look for some 180 springs at the wreckers and coil spacers up the front. This is a lot cheaper fix, even though it would be nice to lower the front diff and do it properly.

Calmini's springs are radically differnt in design to anything else. They run a lot more turns and the front springs in particular are very very long and soft.

IMHO the kit without the springs is useless. The arms etc are nice but the performance of the Calmini kit is all in the springs.

Thanks steve. I got an email back from calmini the other day and they said they would sell the spings separately under this kind of circumstance. i just told them i was getting the kit second hand and it didn't come with springs.

Fronts would be $80 and rears $75 US.

Just in case anybody was interested, not sure who ended up with the kit but it was sold.
