Mq coil conversion

G'day, Have a MQ shorty with near new leaf springs. Whats involved in putting coils all round as well .. Wrick

lots of welding expertise... to weld onto the cast iron diffs you need to be a good welder... something about heating, THEN welding, then heating again to make sure the weld takes. Other than that, it couldn't be too hard could it? Shock mounts, spring mounts/retainers, 3 link setup.... *dreams*
edit: probably easier to just go ahead and buy a GQ then...

The only reason I would consider it is because I can't have a GQ. If I could have a GQ it wouldn't even cross my mind....

easiest way to do it and the only practical way is to put a pair of GQ diffs with all the coil mounts and link mounts etc all on them already.
that way u get a wider diff ( better tack ) a stronger pair of diffs, and you dont need to do anywhere near the welding... you would save yourself about 2/3 of the welding.
on mq diffs, you would spend loads of time and loads of money and would only gain a few inches of down travel
