Have an old air tank from a truck wrecker that has oil and crud in it. What is the best way to clean it out?

I cleaned out the wet tank on a commercial loader, after de-greasing the tank I washed it out with a strong detergent and to get the water out i rinsed with metho, someone once told me that if you had water in a fuel tank the best way to get the last of it was using metho as the water attaches to it as you flush it out. turps and water tend to separate

did the metho trick on my first motorbike. had to clean out the tank, full of crap basically. when it was reasonably dry put back on bike, fuel and metho. ran a bit crap, basically would lose power in short spurts, but come good pretty soon

Whenever we replace a compressor on trucks at work we clean out the airtanks with metho if it was passing oil really bad. Just slosh it around a bit a few times, works ok.
