You can still get series 1 rockhoppers for 1 liters.

They offer a 0% reduction high range and 69% reduction low range.

As to my understanding it will fit with no modification.

Don't hold me to this though :D

Early type 1.0 litres have a different transfer case that don't suit after market gears.
They need to be case with a 4wd light fitted.
These are easy to change over, so crawler gears is an easy thing.

LP, I think kit will be a non shift light car if it has a drum front end.

This being the case, it would want to be really cheap to justify any time being spent on it.

You will need to replace the front axle assembly (or find a disc axle somewhere to pull the hubs off off) master cylinder, and a later transfer to make it usable.

This stuff could equal about a grand if you have to buy it.

This done, you will still have a 1.0, a four speed with a 3:1 first gear and rubbish rear brakes.

With the prices of early wide track 1.3's so low, that drum front end car better be all but free.

Just my 2c worth. If you have the right stuff laying around, go for it.
