Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Just put 37" tyres on my 5" lifted GQ, and at full lock the tyres rub quite badly on my control arms.
Is it as simple as winding out the steering stop bolts a few turns? How many turns? Is the bolt long enough, or do I need a longer bolt?

Also, the tyres rub on the front and rear of the rear wheelarch, if I remove the plastic trim at the front of the rear wheelarch, will that give me much more room? I only need about 10mm...

you can take the plastic trims out but if you dont have a snorkle youll drown the engine quick smart cause the pick up is rite behind there it doesnt really give you much more room for the tyres it al depends on how hard they scrub.
i did a full cut on mine to fit 38.5s about 50mm all the way round to about 100mm at the doors hope that helps.
just remember if your tyres dont rub fit bigger ones and wen they do just get the grinder out and cut em. cheers

Sorry, I mean the Plastic trims on the front of the rear wheelarch, not the front guard liner...

If you take that trim off you should get about 10mm more clearance you need

yeah thatll give you a lil of room i had to do that to clear my 33s but wid the 38s i had to cut out 100mm at the back to fit em at full flex but they still rubbed on the top of the gaurd
it depend on the offset of your rims i run a 3in offset but with 1in i remember the 33s didnt hit the back just the inside and chassis

I never Had an issue with the my shorty with 37"s mtrs on the radius arms .....if anything they may have just touched what offset you running rim wise (cruiser offset? the largest one available off the shelf)


with the rear I extended my wheelbase but I also removed the plastic stone gaurds from the front of the rear guards ...from memory it was like 20mm or so extra .. the LWB are better in this regard as when they are removed you cant see the fixing screws as you can with the swb ....

Dunno what offset rims, just 16 x 8's.

My 36's with 75 series rims, fitted the rear no problem, just rubbed on the inside of the rear arches, and i trimmed the bottom corner of the front guards at the front.

These 37" Creepy's don't seem to sick out as much as the 36" Swampers did.... maybe they need more offset/spacers?

maybe they were 'nissan' rims as they have a more positive offset than the yota's..

Grab a ruler. and measure from outside rim lip to centre dish where the nuts sit and measure the same on your swampers to see if the rims have the same offset.

If they're different then you know why you're havin those problems.

ive got 35 inch BFGs on steel GU rims and they rub the radius too, i just wound out the stops a bit. ive also got a set of 35 inch pedes on yota offset rims, they dont rub at all

I don't have my swampers anymore :(

They do sit in a fair way, I have just bought another set of rims, Hopefully they are better offset.

may need to go to a 10inch rim, as those creepies are fairly wide from memory

these are only 12.5", not 14.5".
