It most certainly is

The interior is getting the same treatment soon. If I have any chance of getting the New GTI swift off the girlfriend, I'll need a fairly neat sierra to trade with

Back door was completely removed, and a new panel welded in.
The roll hoop is 2.5mm Cattle rail (oval rail). Its pretty strong, and would take a fair impact, but I would imagine that after an end on end or 2 that it would be pretty stuffed. Still, looks good, and would save a life....

No spare.
But thats fine. The damn thing never leaves the blacktop anyway.
My new GTI swift doesn't come with a spare at all. All that is provided is a puncture repair kit and a pump

Its a VERY tight seal along the top edge, and I have sealed everything that may cause leak when submerged, but at the end of the day, its a sierra, and it will leak

Very nice Gutless.
Did you just glue the carpet straight to the wheel tubs? What kind of glue did you use and what does it hold like? I plan on doing the same (without the lid) with marine ply and carpet. I'd say the ride is a bit more quite now.

Looks effing

Awesome job mate.
Did anything need to be engineered or blue plated for legalitites. Or if you didn't 'should' they be done?

the whole thing is lined with 12mm MDF except the wheel tubs. I used a product made by SEPTONE from supercheap. can't remember what its called, but its the only one that septone make, so it shouldn't be hard to find.
Sticks like $hit to a blanket!!
Heaps Quieter, but I have a gaping hole in the floor where the shifter from the jimny gearbox comes through, so I get plenty of noise through there ATM

Just a seating modification, from 4 to 2 seats. The whole thing comes off with half a dozen bolts.

Camping gear goes in the trailer with the beer. I am making a sealed top for my trailer to stop my beer getting wet too.
Clothes in the boot, so who cares if they get wet

Just a tip on the MDF...the slightest bit of moisture roots it completely if it isnt totally sealed. I had custom made interior panels on my old Commodore that got a little bit of water inside the doors in heavy rain. The MDF soaked it up like a sponge and expanded as well. It fell apart not long after.
Thanks for the info on the spray glue

if you can do it all yourself, about $600 including the lights in the new tailgate.

Maybe marine ply would be a better option than mdf?

Don't see why......
Its sealed....
If you were just lining the back of a sierra tub, and it didn't have a soft top I could see a need for marine ply, but otherwise, why would you bother??
