Disco going up
Well i finally got some money together and bought some 2" lifted lovell springs. Putting them in on friday morning and then going straight to the tyres shop to get me 265/75 Bf goodrich all terrains fitted.
whats the general census, will they fit??? i think they will but i have a feeling that lower section of the rear guard will have to go.
Im thinking also should i do a 1" bodylift or should i justr do a 2"?? Will many modifications have to be done for a 1" bodylift??
Or could i get away with the 1" for the time being and then cut the wheel arc hes later??
Cant wait... im sick of my car looking like a low rider shopping trolley!!!

Okay actually changed my mind.... Im not too keen on the bodylift but will do a 1" as a last resort.
With fitting the 265/75/r16 all terrains will that put any stress on any other components on my car that will cause me major grief.
Im doing all of this this friday ( Lift and tyres ) and then i am going on a 3000kms trip to test it all out.
Any advice would be great.

Disco II will cope no trouble with a 2" lift and the 265/75R16 - this is what I run. No idea about fitting to a Disco 1 though.
As Maggot said though, you should go the muds and they are a much better all rounder!! I have 2 good BFG Muds for sale with 65% tread (9mm) left for $200 - giving a third away with the same tread as it has a pin hole puncture. check out the for sale section.

did a 2.5" lift on a D1, no problems at all but had to cut the rear guards front and back to clear 33's. This is a 2 door so no major issues with grinding bits off the guards at the rear - like impeding on the rear door, and just added rubber flares to keep it all legal.
Nice gq swb ute chop with a huffer for the good times
took a wedge of metal starting about 20- 30 cm up from the bottom of the guard tapering to 25-30 mm wide at the bottom, both front and back on the rear guards. Straight cut with the AG.
Took a much smaller wedge (15mm x 100mm high) out of the 'rear' of the front guards as they only caught the bottom edge on full lock, maxed out suspension. Front edge is fine with TJM bar fitted.
Did not turn the edge back as the rubber flare seemed to give it enough strength and the amount of metal removed was in reality not that much. But will do so when doing the next 'trim'.
Tyres are 10'' wide, will check the offset for u - the rims were custom made for a series landy and tyres (BFGs) just hit the lower control arms on full lock, not enough to worry about though.
