5th gear towing

does anyone know if the problem with towing in 5th gear on the patols has been fixed in the latest model?
The initial problem was incorrectly hardened shafts.
Nissan fixed it a few years ago.
BUT driving in 5th with a big load on any overdrive box will put a lot more side load on shaft and bearings as 5th is offset.
Change to 4th on hills or if it luggs.
