Disco alternator voltage

How many volts should these puppies put out... I just put in a dual battery system and the alt voltage was 14.3 volts.
Is that normal??? Seems a bit high

Mine usually reads between about 13.0V and 14.3V. Thats for a Disco2.

14.2 is normal. It then usually drops off to about 13.9 when battery full /temp rises.
More volts the better within reason as more volts=lower current through switches etc etc.

Well to a point. The voltage control is for charging the battery.
As I understand it 14.7 is the limit that the battery should see and 14.2 is about the best for battery life, so yes 14.3 is about right.
