only iff the difs are hot wil it suck water in throu the breather

by sitting there it shouldnt

thou for the sake of some oil and bout half hours work it would be worth draining the diffs.

Not hard, there's a 3/8" square plug on the bottom to drain and one on the side to fill.

Get a hand pump to pump the oil back into the holes that are on the side ($20 from supacheap). Fill it up until you can feel the oil through the side hole in the diffs. Diff oil stinks, so try not to get it all over yourself  .

Have a look here to download the manual for more instructions

Hope that makes sense

a set of Muddies will get you stuck further in :) and joining the Zook club down there will get you some mates to pull you out :)

Lesson here is always drive with friends so you have someone handy to snatch you out. :D

There are hand winches that go cheap on Ebay...they probably aren't the best quality but they should do the job on a Zuk.

My suzki sucks water in the diffs woth breathers! Just undo the bolt in the middle of your diif and stick your finger in and see what colour the oil is. If it's a sort of white colour youv'e got water in there if it's not it should be ok unless you havn't changed it for a while!

The hand winches are GREAT but are pretty hard work and i've found out and will tell you don't get a car mounted winch because every one else needs to use it except you! A hand winch can do alot of other things a car mounted winch can't do.
Hope this helps

looking at those photos your breathers wouldnt have been underwater. I wouldnt worry about it. If a hum develops in your rear diff change the oil but I reckon you will be fine.

wasnt that hard was only in 2nd. it was funn tho. just wish the middle wansnt there . in fromont of the plates the water was boua 2 inches deep . so when it was sittin there the wheels where fully not touching anything.

its more fun.

anyway, as for your diffs, you should look at fitting breathers. and it doesnt hurt to take the fill plug out, dip ur finger in to check the oil.

if in doubt, just change the oils anyway, and then fit breathers while you are at it.

you are checking these puddles before you go in aren't you? Make sure you check out the depth and to see what is in them especially if they are near population as people chuck all sorts of stuff into them

this one i did check the sides but it was to wide to check the middle.

i was goin nicly on the side. then i thaught id go a bit deaper. then it just droped off and i seen the bonnet nearly go under. i shit myself then my mate was virtualy on my lap . lol

out of reflex in 3rd i just gave it to it and it pulled me out. was a pretty hairy experiance. wish i had someone takin pics would of looked pretty sick.
