GQ Turbo Or Supercharger?

I want to make my TB42 get up and go and i have heard that putting a V8 in really isn't worth it.
Has anyone put a Safari Turbo or Supercharger on there TB42?
Whats the better option for 99% road use.
Does anyone know who makes a different bolt on turbo kit for a TB42 or maybe a supercharger..
I was thinking of a supercharger mainly becuase it envolves less modifcations i think
Thanks for any replys or links or pictures or anything..

Turbocharger is less modifications, unless you can work out where you're going to fit a large supercharger without running any belts....

Yeah I would have thought turbo is less stuffing around than supercharging.
A few people have turbo'd their TB42s lately and they seem very happy with the results, it certainly sounds like good bang for bucks and it's starting to become a path where you can learn from others who've gone before you.

Without a doubt, Turbo it.
I have changed my setup recently to a blow thru (with LPG) and now running 10psi of boost with a TB45, and it is a dramatic horsepower increase. The TB45's have a better head design without the inherent weakness that can cause cracking in TB42's, but unfortunately they also have weaker conrods than the TB42's.

WOW this is awersome!!!
This may sound like i haven't been reading any of the threads or posts in the previous pages..
I'm still learning how even a turbo works i'm woundering does anyone make a bolt on kit
$3k for turbo to fit onto my car is a awersome price but i don't think i could fit it myself and i don't know were to buy any of the stuff either..
Has anyone had there Turbo TB42 on a dyno how much over just a stock TB42 hp increase?
My car has done 415K's but the engine i had replaced and it has done 180K and is in good condition ..
I may have a few questions but thought i would ask
Can TD42 Inlet Manifold be used to mount the turbo on?
Do you still use extractors and all that on the engine or do they get replaced?
Does Ford sell XR 6 Turbos to anyone for $1500?
Thanks for all your help
I'm a
NOOB! so if anyone has the time maybe make a list of what i need to buy and with rough figures on prices on the items..
THANKS ALOT..
Rick.

TURBO GQ - Could you explain what type of turbo you use and all the other bits like what manifold etc?
My car has only 31's and is on road 90% time and tows a fairly large boat at time 20ft + and i also do a fair amount of beach driving..
Would beach driving cause a turbo to melt becuase of the soft sand and it's strain on things at times when towing...
I'm wanting to buy all the bits first then spend a weekend putting together..
Thanks for ya help..

stop being scared and just turbo it. very easy to do just cleaning up my twin turbo install at the moment. no need to decompress as they run a 8.5:1 compression ration standard which is great for turbo's and i have some mates up here who run 18 psi in there cars all day long then when they go race i've seen it as hi a 24psi. did i mention they are getting around 350rwhp! don't have any dyno figures on mine yet that is next weekends job to tune it and do a run, but have been in a comp already and taken a mate with 4.5l turbo cruiser for a drive, he rekons mine is faster than his easily running half the boost.

Can't even imagine why you would want to supercharge it , they belong on GM 2 stroke diesels. TURBO IT just read the forum and see what others results are. We have done quite a few now and they are reliable horsepower all day every day .

I like my supercharger, wouldn't make as much power as a turbo but great from low to mid rpm.

and if your really keen.....do both! just like sequential turbos except the first turbo is a supercharger.
