So yesterday i drowned the roza ( water into coil / dizzy i think ), got it going again and got it home. I started it again tonight started fine went fine so i decided to was it.

Left it running so if i got water in the dizzy again i would know. Finished washing it jumped back in went to hit the throtle and it sounded like shit again.

I'm thinking that i need to somehow water proof the coil and dizzy but i am also wondering if may have got water in the fuel.

First of all how do i water proff the dizzy and coil ?

second does anyone know how hard it is to get water in through the petrol cap ?

I would really appreciated any help as i am trying to get some new tyres for it and and then it should go ok.

Cheers Nick

Leads , buy some good ones somtimes the factory leads are by far superior for water resistence as in suzuki they end up costing 2x good aftermarket , use a seperator on the leads so as they do not touch each other , you can run a small amount of silicon to seal the dizzy cap .
Does the original cap have a seal ? it may be missing.

there are a lot more things you can do . such as presurising the diz with a couple of psi , during water crossings , I used to run a rubber surgical glove over the leads and dizzy for bog holes, .

If water gets into a dizzy somtimes it take 40 minutes of driving before the car dies , Once the diz heats up enough to vaporise the water it rise and condensates inside the cap , = Die

Some dizzy caps have a breather, I ran a hose off mine up high, never gets water in it. Make sure it has a good rubber seal, too.

Metho in the petrol tank (assuming not deiesl as you dont put metho in a deisel) will help the water burn out through the system. I use 1/2L of metho to 60L fuel on odd occassions. I know not if there is a recommended ratio?

I agree with good quality leads and other electrics, as this helps a lot.

Some solid state coils (not suitable for all cars) have terminals further from each other, meaning spark leakage is less a problem
