Hey Frank,

I was wondering if you had any information about the pto units that came on some of these trucks overseas.

As far as I know all of the transfercases were built to handle a pto... they all have the mounting flange.

Also the NZ guys have stated that they are available for both genI and genII rigs. The only problem is finding out what rigs they were in (desiel jtop for example).

Does any one know which company made the pto unit?

Also do you remember how much Lloyd paid for the front 5.29 gears that I ended up buying from him. I know he didnt make any money off the deal, but I cant rember how much I paid him. I want to know, because I am selling the gears to put the money into some other stuff.

How is your truck coming along. Did they give you the check to start fixing it yet?

Cheers,
DougH

Dougie, the front 5.29 was around $650 Oz from memory.
My truck is being repaired now and they are about half way through (still waiting for parts from Japan) should be a few more weeks.

I don't know a lot about those rare PTO's, some Gen 1's here had them. The diesels and 2.6 t/cases are the same (1.944 ratio) I did check with my dealer a while ago and not all parts were available from new mainly linkages and the small uni's. They were very rare over here and virtually impossible to source from a wrecker.
I only have a Gen 1 schematic from my CAPS program,
As for Gen 2's I have never seen one fitted here or overseas but they did exist for some markets however my CAPS program doesn't show one for a Gen 2.
The t/case gearing is different to at 1.925 (3.0 V6) and 1.90 (3.5 V6 + 2.8TDI) so the PTO drive gear would be different from a Gen 1 I'd imagine.
But your right all Mitsu t/cases have the idler gear attachment points for the factory PTO.

Frank.
