Seeing as finding a complete G16 is getting harder to find.

Anyone used a vit 1.6 16v MPFI with a aftermarket ecu? I was looking at possibly using a 4agze charger on it at a later date possibly.

Been looking at the LINK and Autronic ones, about 1000ish for the computer and base program.

are you going to run a new wiring loom? i am eventually going to do the same with an e45 s/c and was thinking about a megasquirt ECU which is stacks cheaper.

Thought of megasquirt but unsure if there is a basemap that works ok to start of with.

Nic,

I used a EMS Stinger on mine, fair enough it was a gti engine but still you only need about 6 wires to get them going and the standard map built in will run it. Then it needs to be dyno tuned by a professional.

All up, say $1000 for the computer and then at least another $500 for the tuning. Will get much better performance too

Thanks Danny,

Finding out about a motor for sale first to see if it comes with computer and all bits.

Also would the stock cpu handle any boost at ll from a 4age or subaru charger? thinking of low boost application to help in the torque range

Run it without the 'charger and see how you like the torque. For all the messing around I don't think it would be worth it.
