Well folks after about 6 months of trying to track down a supplier and even thought of getting an MQ snorkel and modifying it, 100`s of emails and phone callls, i found a company that make them. The brand is "airflow" and the you can get them for $295 on this web site: http://4wdsystems.com.au/ and here is the manufacturer.: http://www.gibsonrm.com.au/html/make.ph ... e=snorkels them look pretty good and i am getting one for sure.

I also managed to track down a company that makes dash mats for rockys as well. http://www.accessoriesonline.com.au/ and they are about $55 delivered.

So there are a few suppliers of after market parts for this breed of fourbee.
If anyone knows of more parts available. let us all know. Good luck

Dunno mate, i wish i knew. Its best to ring 4wd systems and ask them. I also got my bull bar from them and they are really helpful.

I do know that they fit both new and old shape rockys, they just said that for f78 rockys not to use the template to cut holes in you 1/4, but to matxh up the snorkel itself to the car and then use that as a guide. But for eariler models it shouldn`t be a problem.

Disco snorkel? Which model? i didnt know they were compatable. Would all the piping to the airbox be the same?

for the $250 they are asking you could easily get a muffler shop to bend up some staino for you, would look many times better and prolly stronger. Juts gotta do the plumbing yourself, shouldn't be too hard

Nice find greyzook...

I knew airflow made one, but could never find info on the supplier.

The only dislike I have with this sort is how far they go down the front quarter panel. I plumbed mine in half way along the wheel arch and it met up with the airbox very well.
If you go down the guard further further (you miss the gusset running down the inner gaurd) but you have a bit more stuffing around with intake plumbing.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but I bought one of these "Airflow" brand ones from a 4wd shop in adelaide for my rocky. I took it back....
It isn't actually designed to fit the rocky. I did some reasearch and found that it was actually designed to fit the MQ patrol from memory. Looks like they may try to use it on the discovery as well from previous talk.

Eitherway the angle with the windscreen really isn't right and as HotFourOk said, it travels waaay to far down the quarter panel making plumbing into the aircleaner difficult.

Ended up making a stainless steel one. Looks sooooo much better than plastic and it fits like a glove. Actually have to make another one for my new rocky soon. ;)

Check out HotFourOk's post with his snorkel (F78 Snorkel .... DONE!).

He's got pix and I also have some as well.

Cheers.

Shit, i thought i was on to a winner. So you really wouldnt reccomend it. What model rocky did you try it on. Do you think it could be different for other modles?

So did I....
I have been known to be a bit of a perfectionist, but even the guy at the 4wd shop said it didn't look right.
By all means give it a go if you want.... just make sure they'll let you take it back.

I found the build quality of the airflow one not as good as some others like airtech and safari.

My rocky's are an '86 F75 and a '92 F75. Basically even the F78 is the same body panel style above the flares. Might want to check with HotFourOK on the guset he metioned inside the qarter panel. Can't remeber if I found one when I was doing mine. Either way I didn't have any problems.

Cheers ;)

I can take pics of the section I had to cut out if you'd like, it had a U shape piece of metal running along inside the guard. (On the outside of the engine bay...between that and the quarterpanel) TJM cut it for me with a holesaw.

If you need info or help i took pics of nearly all stages, from marking, to cutting, bolting it on and sealing it up :D

And it doesnt cost too much either... and you can make it as perfect as you want.

I couldn't stand the snorkel not fitting the pillar properly as tabrocky mentioned.. especially paying 300 bucks for it to not be right.
