Gday,

i am having trouble deciding between getting a NH/J V6 or Diesel. There appears to be heaps of V6s around with not too bad kms at reasonable prices, yet good diesels seem to be fiarly hard to find.

What would you recommend?

it will be mainly used by my wife during the week as i have a company car(mind you she wont use it much), then used on the occasional holiday, with only bush track/rutted track type 4wding.

any towing would only be a 6x4 trailer

thanks,
Shem

weren't all the NH diesels turbo?

I've got an NH TD GLS and find it to be very good, the manual can be a bit clunky (I think this was a problem with them anyway). mine got 303500kms on it and runs pretty well. (except for an issue with oil pressure)

Turbo's make a diesel. They go slow without them and slower up hills.

Either or - I'd get a petrol for it's sprightlyness but they do use more fuel

is the 2.5td in the NH any good?

also am i correct in saying that the NH Diesel doesnt have the bonnet scoop? only the NJ onwards did?

They seem to be ok, don't get them hot, if you can stretch to a 2.8 it'd be worth it thou.

Go the NJ diesel - Mitsubishi redesigned the front end of the NJ, for a slightly higher ride height, and the diesel is the 2.8. :D
