How strong is a Salisbury diff?

G'day all,
Is a Salisbury diff the exact same as a D60 diff? has it got a 8" or 9" crownwheel ??
Also IZUZUROVER you were saying fitting a Salisbury in the front. are you going to cut one down and bolt swivels onto it?

A salisbury diff is the exact same crown and pinion as a d60 (9.25in crown I think) The problem with it is that it has the same weak 24 spline rover axles in it.
So overall the salisbury isnt very strong given the weakest point is the 24 spline shafts.
A toy 8in centre with 30 spline shafts will be stronger overall IMO.
You would have to convert the salisbury to 35 spline shafts (jac mac does these) to make it worthwile the strength increase.
Also if you put a salisbury in the front you are wasting your time if you retain the rover or toy CVs cause these will still be the weak link IMO. You would really want to go to fc101 cvs to make it worthwile in the front.

thats why i'm using salisbury fc diffs in the front
stronger axles and cv's.
