Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hey guys,

i just brought one of those MAXI TRAK air compressors from repco.
and i am adding a air tank to it.

the question is where can i buy a pressure switch that will switch the compressor off at like 100 ish psi and then back on again when it gets low.
and i am also after a one way valve that will stop the air leaking back through the aircpmpressor.

some where close to the geebung area(industrial) in brisbane would be pressered.

Try searching, its been discussed many times.

The switch you need is from ARB. Its normally under $30. Just feed the power through this switch and it will turn the compressor on and off.

The one way valve I got from a hose place. Try Pirtek or similar. While you are there, you may want other things like a "bling" braided hose to go from compressor to tank as they can get hot.

A proper compressor pressure switch can be had from any compressor supply place - sorry don't know anyone northside - Binford Compressors on the southside stock them.

These are a 3 purpose switch:

1 - switch compressor off at settable max pressure (I use 130psi)
2 - switch compressor on again 40psi below max pressure setting
3 - these have a "load genie" valve in them which can operate a 3-way checkvalve and release residual line pressure - which reduced load on next startup.

I THINK they were about $30 bucks from memory - but can't remember exactly.

Or as Toy80Diesel points out - the ARB ones do probably much of the same - although they are more compact, but they are non-adjustable to my knowledge.

im pretty sure hobzee (steve) off the board could help you, or else hes on ebay. Hes got the ARB pressure switches on there for $20 buy it now, or starting bid from $15. Im sure he could do something about a check valve too, i just bought the whole kit and kaboodle off him to start with

You beat me to it Dean.
Hobzee is your man. He'll have it to you in no time!

For your one-way valve to work properly, you'll need to be able to exhaust the air in the line between the compressor and the non-return valve when the compressor stops. Most industrial types of pressure switches already have this valve built in, and are also adjustable. 80psi cut in-120 cut-out. Make sure you include a safety valve on the tank.

Yes have all that stuff in stock. Can do check valve and ARB pressure switch (100psi for lockers) for $45 inc postage & handling.

Have higher pressure switches too if lockers are not an issue.

Don't forget to use a relay to switch over the power to the compressor motor.
Most pressure switches are only good for 10 amps, so simply putting them inline with the compressor power leads is asking for trouble.
We re-engineered ours to 15 amps a while back so we could directly power our smaller 10 amp compressors off of them, but we still include a 40 amp relay on our larger compressors.
